Hamburger came from American culture, and it has quickly spread all over the world. In general, a hamburger is American food, and we call it fast food today. Also, on the other hand, in British and American English, a burger (which is a short version of “hamburger”) is minced meat, and we usually form it into a disc, which we call patty. Indeed a burger is usually a sandwich, and as I said before, it can be food.
In fact, a hamburger consists of one, or more cooked patties, usually ground beef, placed in sliced bread. In addition, the patty can be fried or grilled or smoked or fire-roasted. Additionally, we often eat burgers with some topping such as cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, bacon, or chilis. Moreover, we usually add one or more condiments such as ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, relish, or a “special sauce.”
In essence, a cheeseburger is a burger with cheese, so we call it a cheeseburger. Traditionally, we add a slice of cheese on top of the patty. Also, we usually add the cheese to the cooking hamburger patty shortly before serving, which allows the cheese to melt. Moreover, cheeseburger can include variations in structure, ingredients, and composition. Similarly, in fast-food restaurants, the cheese used in cheeseburgers is usually processed cheese. And also, you may see other meltable cheeses as alternatives. For instance, common examples include cheddar, Swiss, mozzarella, blue cheese, and pepper jack.
Certainly, the best burger is made from grass-fed, free-range beef or lamb. And ordinarily, sirloin with the fat on, brisket, or chuck is most parts of an animal to make a patty. But the chuck is the best part because these cuts come from the front part of the animal and taste the best. More than that, the chuck has enough fat, and we have a juicy burger. So, we usually call this a beef burger. Furthermore, you can also find another kind of burger in the market, such as a chicken burger, turkey burger, or even a veggie burger. On the other hand, there are different sizes of a patty, but for a yummy burger, each patty should be between 5 to 6 oz (140 to 180 g).
After all, the best burger usually offers a combination of tastes and textures with a bit of crunch. To put it another way, the patty, as the first important part of the burger, needs to be tasty and juicy and usually implies beef. And also the bun, as the second important part of the burger, must be soft but can be of a different taste.
Well, our patty or burger is a flattened, round, and serving of ground beef. By the same token, we always use AAA ground beef to make burgers. With this in mind that our ground beef used in our burger must be fresh, halal, free of hormones and antibiotics. Our burger weighs 5 ounces and has a maximum fat content of 15%.
